Well, Praise God, Judah doesn't need a cast! He has a hairline fracture at the base of his tibia, and it should heal quickly as he is little. We happened to have the camera along for the trip to the hospital, anticipating being at a birthday picnic instead (sorry Ben). Here we are, trying to keep the kids busy while in the ER...popsicles for dinner anyone? We were greeted by a gorgeous rainbow when we got home, a bit of much needed hope and beauty.

Having kids is like having a piece of your heart walking around on the outside of you in this great big scary world. Yesterday Owen fell while carrying Judah and our little 17month old hasn't been able to walk on his right leg since. It is an aweful feeling to be helpless to comfort my own child, and I know that Owen would have done anything to trade the pain with Judah too.
Simeon is our emotional thermometer. He is really sensitive to what's going on behind what's going on, and will let Owen and I know by telling us to "Be happy" when things get too tense. Quite often it's exactly what we need to hear, to let go of any burdens and just get down on the floor and play.
